When the railway fire brigade relied on square hoods

The duo is now complete: After fire brigade enthusiasts had already embraced the TLF 16 square hood, modelled after the prototype operating for the Hanover railway fire brigade, WIKING is now completing the fire brigade with the true-to-the-original LF 16. Especially the white central belt with the black Bahnfeuerwehr lettering served as a clear indicator of the fact that the DB railway company was in charge of fire safety at their own depot. The model of the new LF square hood features the distinctively long group cab that holds a crew of 1+8. It also has appropriate interior furnishings with rear bench seats that face each other. Its distinctive look is rounded out by the angular superstructure and the true-to-prototype engravings for the gear compartments on the sides and the rear. Integrated into the roof superstructure is the DIN standard compliant load composed of four-part scaling ladder and three-part sliding ladder. Authentic equipment such as searchlight and hose reel is included - just as it used to be in the original.
