The fire chiefs impressive staff car

Only at the major fire brigades in the country were fire chiefs allowed to drive their own staff car an Opel P2 was one such. They were mostly repainted cars from the municipal fleet, and given the limited operational performance expected from it in the everyday tasks of the fire brigade, they were still of great service. Opel sedans such as the Opel Rekord dating from 1960 were among the preferred types and had their place in the yards of the fire stations alongside VW and Mercedes-Benz.
