The ECR version of the Tornado two-seater multi-purpose combat aircraft was developed at the request of the German Air Force. Compared to the IDS version, the aircraft is specialised in reconnaissance and countermeasures of air defence systems as well as image reconnaissance and is equipped with HARM guided missiles.
